All Open gym events to be held at the TNT Armory located at 417 Caredean Drive, Horsham, PA.

The schedule for open gyms to be held in advance of tryouts (October 17-18-19) is as follows:

Open Gyn Registration Requirements

Open gyms are a FREE way to check out TNT.  There is no TNT fee to participate in an open gym.  (Fine Print....you do need to purchase a $20 AAU Youth Athlete membership for insurance purposes).
 
Everyone must have a membership to play, and past TNT players MUST renew as last year's membership expired on August 31st. When registering with AAU, please associate with TNT using the club code W34DED. 

To obtain an AAU membership click here.  Choose "Youth Athlete Membership", "Regular".  $20 fee to AAU that covers 8/31/2025-8/31/2026. 

Once you obtain an AAU membership and our schedule for open gyms is publicized, you will be able to register here on our website.

FAQs About Open Gyms and Tryouts

Is open gym attendance mandatory?
While open gym attendance is not mandatory to be considered for a TNT team, if you are new to TNT, and no TNT coaches know you, it is STRONGLY recommended to attend multiple Open Gym events to get to know the coaches and have them get to know you.  The easiest way to get overlooked at tryouts is to never have been seen by a coach or the club.

How do I know what my child's age group is for the coming season? 
Please use the table below to determine the correct age group for your child for the 25-26 season

What if we are on vacation or have another schedule conflict during tryouts?
Another benefit of attending open gyms is when a conflict with the tryout date occurs. If you are not able to make yourself available for the tryout for your age group, you have a few options.
IMPORTANT! First and foremost, still register for tryouts!  If you are not registered, you will NOT be evaluated and will not be on the list of athletes used to form teams.
Then, if you can't make the tryout, here are your options:

1) We can evaluate you during another group during tryout weekend.  Contact us at [email protected] to let us know and we will make a note to evaluate you during another tryout session.

2) We can evaluate you during an open gym event.  This is not ideal, but we can certainly send coached to the open gym session to evaluate you.  Keep in mind that you may not have the same coaches present as those at tryouts, and you may not get to play with the same girls at the actual tryout.  We can make this work, but we suggest coming to every open gym possible and discussing your situation with the coaches so they know to evaluate you.

3) If you can't make the tryout, and can't make the open gym all hope is not lost.  If you have played for TNT in the past, we can talk to your coaches to get an evaluation.  You can send game video that we can use to evaluate.  This is by far the least desirable option, but if you are in constant communication with us, it can work.

How many different levels of play do you offer?
We try to give options for all levels of players and all levels of commitment.

National - National teams will practice more, play in the best levels at tournaments and finish the season at AAU Nationals in June 2026.  This level is for the most experienced players that prioritize volleyball over all other activities.
Travel - Travel teams will have good coaching and access to all supplemental training.  This level is designed for intermediate level players that may be involved in multiple activities.  Overnight events are designed so hotels are optional.  The season will end by Mother's Day.
Regional - The Regional level is designed for the beginner to intermediate player that is looking for great coaching and the club experience, but is not able to commit the time or financial resources to play on a higher level team.  The tournament schedule will involve mainly single day events and teams will have 1 practice weekly with access to other non-mandatory training sessions.
In-House - The In-House program meets 1x weekly on a Saturday and will focus on fundamentals and improvement.  Coaches will play games, but players may not necessarily be assigned to a permanent team.  

How many teams will you form at each age level?  
TBD, but we expect something similar to the 2024-2025 season which was as follows:
12U - National (3), Travel (4), In-House (TBD)
13U - National (3), Travel (2), In-House (TBD)
14U - National (1), Travel (2), In-House (TBD)

Will prices be posted before tryouts?  
Prices will 100% be posted as part of the Tryout Flyers that we will publish prior to tryouts. 

Will schedules be posted before tryouts?  
We will post a sample schedule that we anticipate for each team.  However, we are not able to post exact schedules because registration for events will not yet be available at that time. While we expect the sample schedule to end up being very close to the actual schedule, sometimes we are not able to enter some events and will need to replace events with similar choices.

Will coaches be posted before tryouts?  
We will post what we know, but it is unlikely that we will know every coach on every team.   We expect to know all of the head coaches for the National teams and Travel teams prior to the tryout.

Are we allowed to "Play Up"? 
We evaluate requests to "Play Up" on a case by case basis.  If the athlete is expected to be in the starting 6 of the higher level team, and the coaches, players and club administration agree that it is a good fit, we will allow playing up.   In most cases, it is beneficial for the athlete to play with her designated age group.

Do you extend Early Offers?  
NO!  We believe it is unethical to take your money for tryouts when we have already picked our teams. Tryouts will be conducted fairly and unbiased.

Do you extend "Loyalty" Offers?  
NO! A loyalty offer is a way for a club to get you to agree to join them without telling you the team, coach, prices, etc.  We will not hold you hostage and force you to accept an offer unless we can tell you which team the offer is for.  If other clubs present a loyalty offer to you, be sure to ask fi you can decline the offer if you don't make the team you are expecting to make.

There are multiple tryout sessions listed for each age group.  How do we know which one to attend? 
TNT will send you the Session time you are assigned to approximately in the week leading up to the tryout.  We do this to try to make sure each group has even numbers and like skillsets.  If you absolutely cannot attend the session that you are assigned, Please contact us at [email protected].  Please DO NOT just show up to whichever time works best for you.
