Doug Blystone



Doug has been with TNT since 2018 and has been coaching for more than 15 years. 

In 2021, Doug became the first TNT coach to lead his 13 Roadrunner  team to AAU Nationals in Orlando.

Doug has led college teams to playoffs, high school teams to state, and medals on every club team he had worked with since his first year.  In his latest campaign with TNT, Doug led the 12U team all first first place finishes.  In the previous year, he led his 12U team to all first and second place finishes.

Doug became a CAP cadre member in 2012, after completing his CAP III certification. His love of volleyball, thinking outside the box and his desire to challenge the norm of our sport has proven valuable to both the CAP program and his personal coaching. Doug has deep and direct understanding.  He has also designed several modules for the program such as “Conflict Resolution Strategies,” and “Effects of Positivity and Accountability on Team Dynamics.”  Upon receiving his CAP III certification, Doug began travelling the country as assigned to teach other coaches about the science and art of coaching. Doug has been an IMPACT instructor with USA Volleyball since 2006 and is Beach Impact and Beach CAP Level II certified as of 2016.

Additionally, Doug has a pair of master’s degrees, one from Concordia University-Irvine in Coaching and Athletic Administration, and one in Information Science from Widener University.  Doug also holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

Doug has obtained several certifications with ISSA (international Sports Sciences Association)

*   Certified Nutritionist
*   Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach
*   Certified Specialist in Sports Nutrition

Doug resides in Hatboro, PA, with his wife Danna and his children, Molly and John and dog Alex.
