Dear TNT Families,

As we approach the club team season's halfway point, I hope your experience so far this season has been positive. I also wanted to share a few reminders and suggestions, especially since over 30 teams are heading to tournaments this weekend alone.

- Please encourage teams to build in some bonding time this coming weekend and during additional tournament weekends moving forward. We know that team events beyond the court are subject to the wave schedule. That said, the hotel lobby can be a great, low-cost alternative to a large restaurant reservation if those aren't practical for the team group.

- As a reminder, playing time allotments during tournament play may not be equal for all players and are not guaranteed for the duration of an event. Coaches have been instructed to give every player a role and playing time during pool play. However, as teams advance into the playoffs, coaches may "shorten the bench" to pursue deeper runs for the benefit of the entire team during tournament competition.

- If you have concerns about team-related decisions made by coaches, the player involved must speak with the coach first. If you would like a follow-up once that step occurs, request to speak to the coach directly at that time.

- If concerns linger after taking the prior steps, or if a serious issue beyond playing time or similar matters occurs, contacting club leadership is certainly appropriate. However, please do not bypass coaches by going directly to leadership before giving the coaching staff a chance to address concerns that should be directed to them first. If that occurs and the matter does not warrant immediate contact with club administration, we will direct you back to the coach.

- Additionally, please observe the 24-hour rule before approaching coaches about concerns such as playing time or lineup questions/suggestions. Failure to do so can result in negative consequences for a parent and/or player as specified in our Parent-Player Handbook agreed to when the offer for the season was accepted.

- For liability and safety reasons, parents are not permitted to video practices under any circumstance. TNT has security cameras and leadership can review footage if needed. Additionally, parents are welcome to observe practice, but please do not act as an extra coach while present.

- All TNT teams have access to HUDL for video review and statistics. If your team is not recording matches, please work with the coach to ensure matches are recorded and uploaded; team parents can play a vital role in this process. Once matches are recorded, TNT can also assist coaches and parents in interpreting HUDL data.

- FYI - TNT will be migrating to a new website and registration system in the next month for our registrations. You will be asked to create a new user ID and password. We apologize as our current system has been sold. This gives us an opportunity to make our website more professional, but requires that everyone create new credentials.

- Registrations for tryouts will be coming soon.

15U-18U will tryout the weekend of July 17-19.

12U-14U tryouts will be held the weekend of October 16-18.

Stay tuned for open gym announcements and registrations.

- TNT will offer weekly summer camps from 9am-1pm on Monday through Friday starting in late June through Labor Day. Registrations and more information will be posted soon. In addition, there will be evening summer clinics for older players and those looking for specialized training.

Please cheer loudly and positively to encourage our teams as they take the court this weekend and at future tournaments. We hope that you enjoy the rest of the season to the fullest, and again thanks for choosing TNT.

Chuck
